SortED UCC Trial – Patient Testing Completed
Our Urgent Care Centre (UCC) trial of SortED® tablet (part funded by Health Education England) enrolled the last patient on 23 June 2017. Our nurse volunteers were present at GP streaming of 962 patients, simultaneously evaluating patients using the SortED app. Comparison of SortED records with the UCC’s own patient records is in progress.
UCCs were intended to take pressure off their co-located Emergency Departments by GP assessment (‘streaming’). However the extent to which this succeeds has not been fully studied. SortED tablet has already been studied on 529 patients attending two Emergency Departments (at Charing Cross and St Mary’s hospitals in London). The extra UCC patients tested with SortED gives us key performance data for less urgent cases.
