SortED app’s first trial – publication now out – Jun 2020
The report of our first clinical trial with the SortED app has now been peer-reviewed and accepted for publication by International Emergency Nursing.
It is currently available online:
Evaluation of a new rapid assessment and treatment (RAT) tablet app for Emergency Department (ED) nurses: Is earlier identification of investigations and treatments feasible?
The app is designed to help Emergency Department nurses perform an initial patient assessment which achieves much more than mere triage (which only sets the acuity). SortED’s app guides the nurse to suitable treatments and procedures for each patient. In this paper we report the extent to which the selections made by study nurses predicted, within minutes, investigations and treatments ordered much later by ED staff.
The audio slides give a 5 minute summary of our findings.
